Convert length, weight, temperature, volume, area, time, speed & energy.
No signup required. Perfect for homework, labs & everyday conversions.
Convert between metric and imperial units across length, weight, temperature, volume, area, time, speed, and energy. Pick a category, enter a value, get every common unit at once. No sign-up, instant conversion as you type.
Length, weight, temperature, volume, area, time, speed, or energy. Each category has its own preset list of units (length: km, m, cm, mm, in, ft, yd, mi, etc.).
Type a number in any unit field. The other fields update instantly to show the equivalent in every other unit in the category.
Click any field to select; copy the value out for use elsewhere. The converter holds your value as long as the tab is open.
European cookbooks use grams and millilitres; US recipes use cups and tablespoons. Convert 250g flour to cups (≈2) before you start.
European road trips, UK driving, distance estimates for marathons or hikes. 100 km ≈ 62 miles; 5 km ≈ 3.1 miles (a 5K run).
Physics problems often state speeds in m/s; intuition is in mph. 30 m/s ≈ 67 mph (roughly highway speed).
180°C = 356°F (medium oven). 200°C = 392°F (hot oven for pizza). Common gotcha: oven temperatures don't scale linearly to "feels like", bake at the right unit, not the rough mental conversion.
Construction specs in the US are still imperial; international engineering is metric. Quick converter saves you from miscalculating beam lengths.
Most US gyms use plates marked in pounds; most workout apps default to kilograms. 45 lb ≈ 20.4 kg (the standard Olympic plate).
Pounds and kilograms aren't the same thing, pound is a force unit, kilogram is mass. The everyday conversion (1 kg = 2.2 lb) is technically force vs mass at Earth gravity. On the moon, your kilograms stay the same but your pounds drop.
US gallon = 3.785 L. UK (imperial) gallon = 4.546 L. Recipes and fuel economy figures often don't specify which, check by context (US recipes use cups; UK use ounces by weight).
°C → °F isn't × 1.8, it's ×1.8 + 32. Most students try to scale temperature linearly and miss the +32 offset. 0°C = 32°F, not 0°F. The calculator gets it right; doing it in your head usually doesn't.
1 cup of flour ≠ 1 cup of sugar by weight. Volume conversions don't translate to weight conversions. For baking precision, weigh ingredients in grams.
m/s vs km/h vs mph, easy to confuse. Highway speed is 100 km/h ≈ 28 m/s ≈ 62 mph. Always specify which unit; physics problems often surprise students by switching mid-problem.
Volume measures vary by how you scoop and pack. 500g of all-purpose flour is roughly 4 cups loose, 3.5 cups packed. Stick to weight when accuracy matters.
8 mph is roughly a 7:30 mile, marathon-PB pace for many runners. Same speed in km is 12.87 km/h, or 4:39/km.
20 m/s is highway-fast (about 70 km/h). When physics problems use SI units (m/s) but you think in mph, the converter saves time.
